Why Me, Why Now?

Most brilliant ideas for a healthier planet stall somewhere between the vision and the first practical step. It's rarely a shortage of passion. More often, every expert around the table can only see their own corner of the problem, and the answer is hiding in the gap between them.

That gap is where I work. I trained in human anatomy, medical genetics, marine biology, ecology, psychology, sociology, somatics and trauma, and I stopped keeping them in separate drawers a long time ago. The health of people and the health of the places they live behave like one living system. A coastline recovers much the way a body does once whatever keeps disturbing it is taken away, and a community repeats its patterns in the same way a family does.

Years of living and working across UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and beyond taught me that the solution that looks obvious in one place can land completely differently in another. That's worth knowing before you've spent the budget.

The What & How
